REVIEW: Alvin and the Chipmunks

Synopsis:

Three lively singing chipmunk brothers, Alvin - the unchained leader, Simon - the genius, and the tender rotund Theodore are living their lives in the forest storing nuts away for the winter when one day their tree is cut down and carried off into the city to become a Christmas tree. They must find a new home and they end up at Dave’s house. The only thing that makes them different is that they can talk and even sing. Dave Seville (Jason Lee) is a struggling song writer who has a great idea about making the chipmunks a new show act, singing his songs. The only thing is that you must remember is that they are chipmunks and they act like chipmunks by tearing up Dave’s house and interrupting his love life. David will adopt the Chipmunks taking care of them as lovely father and manager of their famous rock band. The chipmunks become a big hit and superstars with cute voices and fancy dance moves. The record company executive Ian (David Cross) sees big money in his future and takes over the act and pushes Dave to the side. Dave must try to save his little family before they becomes a show biz disaster. (www.imdb.com)

My Review:

I was ok for what it was. It was a great family movie but other than that I wouldn’t give much time or money. You might want to watch once just for fun. The CGI was ok I have seen better attempts to create taking animals. The kids will love and some of the adults how grew up on the Chipmunks but the teen would be better off seeing something else.

REVIEW: Juno

Synopsis:

Juno (Ellen Page) is a Mid-Western highschooler, who decides one day, out of boredom or curiosity, to have sex with her friend Bleeker (Michael Cera), a member of her school's track team. She likes him well enough, but isn't hung up on him. This one time encounter results in Juno's pregnancy. She and her best friend Leah (Olivia Thirlby) decide to take control of the situation by browsing for prospective adoptive parents in the local Pennysaver, and Juno settles on seemingly perfect, affluent couple Mark and Vanessa (Jason Bateman and Jennifer Garner.) My Review:

I would say it is a cross between Knocked Up and Little Miss Sunshine. Ellen Page is very clever and fast spoke. Michael Cera pulls off the same award teen that has no clue on what’s going on. Best Comedy I have scene in a long time. I will pulling for Juno at the Oscars by the way it was that good.
